I just got back from school. First day of my second sem of first year college and it was boring (insert Sherlock's face). Well, to be fair we just had our orientation for our Research class and Techniques 2 (outdoor drawing). We just met our teacher for Research and got reunited with Benj, my prof in Techniques, who's about fifty but is a really cool artist who likes to wear shirts with ducks on them (I have no idea why).
Quite knackered actually since I fell asleep at six am and got up at eight am. I got to catch some sleep at the end of "Lust for Life" which is all about Van Gogh (not a bad movie, by the way). But before that, I was continuing my drawing of Benedict Cumberbatch. And the weird thing was, Benj approached me and then asked who I was drawing. So I told him it was an actor that I really liked.
And you guys know what he said?
"He's very beautiful."
And what was weirder was he borrowed the picture I was copying and began to sketch Benedict as well. In fifteen minutes this realistic, charcoal depiction of one of my favorite actors was staring right back at me. "I wish I could find a model like him for the class," he said while he did the hair. "The way the shadows play on his face...it's really good." Then he paused, stared at the drawing, then added, "Maybe it's because of the cheekbones? They're quite impressive."
Then I answered, "Sir, if you can find a model like that...there won't be any drawing done."
"Why?"
I think my silence answered the question.
I need to get Benj into Sherlock. We'd just watch the show all day instead of drawing pig skulls and chairs.
None of the teachers at my school watch sherlock- But a few do watch Doctor Who, to be fair
